On Tuesday May 14, 2019, the Maine Senate REVERSED COURSE, WITH ONE SENATOR CHANGING VOTE and voted 18-17 to remove religious vaccine exemptions from parents and others, reversing a vote taken the week before. On May 24, LD798 was signed into law by Governor Janet Mills.
The legislation abolishes the right to philosophical or religious “exemption” – forcing vaccine products on all students, all daycare providers, and all healthcare employees, children and adults.
In addition, the law says “Immunization requirements more stringent than the provisions of this subchapter may be adopted by ordinance enacted by a municipality, by regulation of a school board or by policy of a private school’s governing board.” How they can get more stringent than this is anyone’s guess, because this new Maine law appears to be the most restrictive vaccination the history of the United States has ever seen.
The enactment date for this “emergency” legislation, was set at 2021.
Citizens have already declared they will fight to overturn it.
