By statute (Act 157), Parent Educational Material to be read and understood by those signing Vaccine Exemption Forms was supposed to be “evidence based” and include information on risks of adverse reactions to immunization. Unfortunately, the material that was developed and released by the Department of Health does not meet this goal. We hereby petition the Agency of Human Services and the Department of Health to undergo Rules Making and to improve this inadequate and coercive document. Please read and sign petition below. We demand transparency and due process. Thanks!

Preserve Vermont\'s Philosophical Vaccine Exemption and the Right To Health Choice Vaccines are irreversible medical procedures that do carry risks—and for that reason parents and patients always need to have the choice to say no. The philosophical exemption has worked for Vermont since 1979, and honors the ethical foundation of informed consent. Vermonters should be allowed to pursue non-pharmaceutical health philosophies and still be able to send their children to school. Without liability for vaccine makers and promoters, parents are the only ones who can decide.
